Our story

Every curl has a story. These are four of them.

Curly hair gets a lot of opinions. Too big, too wild, too much, not enough. Most of us have heard all of them, usually before we were old enough to answer back.

Curlily started as a way to answer back, softly. Each scarf carries a curl story many of us will recognise: the big chop and the start-over, the waves that never picked a side, the coils that were called “too much”, the crown that reaches for the sky.

We chose silk because it’s one of the gentlest things you can wrap around curls. Each scarf comes with a few styling accessories that help it hold its shape, and then get out of the way so your hair can do the talking.

Maybe one of the four stories is yours. If it isn’t, come and tell us yours in the Curl Club. The next scarf might carry it.

— Lynn, founder of Curlily

Why silk

Silk twill is smooth and low-friction, so it glides over curls rather than roughing them up. Many people find it kinder to their hair than cotton.

Why curls

Because curly hair has always been told to calm down. We’d rather turn it up.
