Five ways to tie a scarf on a bad-hair day
Flat roots, frizzy ends, no time to wash? Each of these takes a few minutes.

Everyone has them. You wake up, look in the mirror, and your hair has made other plans. Before you reach for heat, reach for silk. These five looks take just a few minutes each.
1. The wide halo band
For flat roots. A wide band set a finger behind the hairline lifts the front and frames your face, while your curls stay free behind it. It should sit snug, not tight.
2. The bandana tie
For a frizzy crown. Fold into a triangle, cover the top of your head, and tie at the nape. The curls at the back carry the look.
3. The low bun wrap
For tired lengths. Gather everything into a loose low bun and wrap the scarf around it. Polished in two minutes.
4. The full turban
For the days nothing works. It covers everything and looks deliberate. Bold earrings recommended.
5. The twisted headband
For big hair that just needs a little edge. Twist the scarf into a rope and lay it across loosely, with your crown out and loud above it.
